Pre-Christmas Mission Temple Trip (with Slide Show!)

Tuesday, December 17, 2013 dawned cold and bright as missionaries from around the mission drove for hours to get to the Birmingham Temple for the first of eight sessions between Tuesday and Friday.  Although cold outside, the warmth of The Lord’s House filled each of the missionaries of the Alabama Birmingham Mission as they performed those works of great eternal significance.  Temple Ordinance Workers willingly opened the temple and served during the day – in a temple where most sessions are held at night – in addition to their regular assignments.  Missionaries emerge with joy and replenished energy to further the work to which they have been called.

Largest Transfer in Mission History (Slideshow)

On Tuesday, November 26, 2013, thirty-eight (38) newly assigned missionaries arrived from the Provo, UT Missionary Training Center.  They constituted the largest group to ever arrive and expanded the total mission population to nearly 300.
